The (stupid) plant a seed advice

This advice really pisses me off because it is just not a solution AT ALL. Theoretically yes, on the surface this seems like what we should do. IF CANNABIS WAS LEGAL. What really annoys me that this advice is actually detrimental to the effort in combating grit weed because it doesn't suitably negate the core reason for the massive spread of contamabis, which is IGNORANCE ON BEHALF OF THE SMOKER AND/OR DEALER.

Wait, wait, before you make up your mind let me explain why this advice is useless, in fact less than useless because it takes the place of other possible advice.

Here are some reasons off the top of my head why everyone should stop saying 'plant a seed and save a nation'.

1. ONLY A TINY % OF ALL SMOKERS HAVE THE MEANS TO GROW. Of those who do grow only a tiny % will not be able to sustain a 12 month harvest. Thus will have to resort to dealers.
Think of all the teenagers in their parents house. HOW ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO GROW??
or how about the people living with flat mates who wouldn't take kindly to the cultivation of a controlled substance in their house. HOW ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO GROW?
Think of people who have neither the resources, time, money or balls to grow.

2. Of those who grow a proportion will be caught, arrested and prosecuted. There is massive fucking risk. You're going to have to be careful about what friends or relatives come over.

3. Individual small time growers could never match the quantities of marijuana involved. It's a massive cash crop. You think a few hundred small time growers can cater for that?

4. Even if you grow you will have extended periods where you have no bud. Or that your bud will be shit. That you might get insects in your bud. That you didn't read the growers bible cover to cover.

So in short, if it was so simple to stick a ganja seed in a pot and the next day have a bar of hi grade, don't you think it would already be happening?? For all you growers, good for you, it's good you won't have a 1000% increase in lung cancer risk but just remember 95% of people cannot grow.

I go to my dealer so I don't have to deal production or shipping.

If you really want gritweed to stop you have to get the buyers to stop buying, the idiot rude boy dealers to wisen up, and make it more profitable to sell clean weed again.

That is all.

Well, the fact is if you want to be sure of what you're smoking, growing your own is the only way to go. It also means your weed hasn't come from any kind of criminal outfit.

It's also a very easy thing to do - a real lazy mans hobby - and a very enjoyable pastime (or so I've been told by a man in a pub...)

So it's not stupid advice.

However, what you say is also true, the vast majority of cannabis users will have to buy from dealers. Hence the advice is just don't buy crap weed or mucky hash. If the consumers don't buy it the dealers won't sell it.
