THE
QUEEN v. FREE CANNABIS
Background
to the case.
For
the last severn years Free Rob Cannabis has been coming to Hyde Park,
Speakers Corner, to mark the anniversary of Cannabis prohibition
(September
28th 1928) within the UK.
In
1996 and 1997 Free handed out free Cannabis and then marched on
Marylebone police station as part of a National Turn Yourself In
Day. The
police refused to arrest anyone at these events.
From
1998 to 1999 Free handed out free Cannabis as part of a series of
Fully Liberated Cannabis Picnics.
On
September 30th 2000 Free followed his usual Cannabis giveaway with a
Cannabis auction to raise money for the Free Medical Marijuana Foundation.
On
September 29th 2001 the Cannabis Coalition organised a Cannabis March
and
rally to coincide with the Free Cannabis in the Park event.
This brought
hundreds of police into Hyde Park. However this did not deter Free Rob
Cannabis from giving out free Cannabis and then holding a Cannabis Auction
and Raffle, in front of several hundred police. The auction was curtailed
by
the Cannabis Coalition who instructed Free that he had to stop the auction,
as the march had to leave the park by a set time.
As
the March left Hyde Park, Free was arrested.
Free
was subsequently charged with possession of Cannabis and possession
with intent to supply Cannabis.
On
September 28th 2002, despite being on bail, Free did his usual free
Cannabis distibution in the form of a box of Hash cakes.
The
5th Trial of The Queen v Free Cannabis will be taking place at
Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court, directly opposite The Houses of Parliament.
A trial date has been set for the week commencing November 11th. This
is the
same date as Tony Taylors case, who has been charged with possession
with
intent to supply 13 kilos of Cannabis.
The
Defence of Free Cannabis.
On
May 16th Free submitted a defence statement to the Crown Prosecution
service. The staement begins by stating that when arrested Free was in
possession of dried flowers and natural plant resins, NOT DRUGS, as the
charges indicate. For Free to plead Guilty or Not Guilty
to these
charges would show acknowledgement of a fraudulent, illegal law in violation
of human rights.
The
aim of this trial will not necessarily be to prove Frees innocence,
which is obvious as there is no victim of any alleged crime, but to expose
the criminality and illegality of the so-called Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
The laws of Prohibition are a gross violation of Human rights, in particular
article 18 of the UN declaration of Human Rights, that states that everyone
has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right
includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either
alone
or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his
religion or belief, in worship, teaching, practice and observance.
This
article has been copied word for word, into the European Declaration of
Human Rights as article 9-1. A sub-clause has been added to 9-1 in the
form
of article 9-2. This article states that Freedom to manifest ones
religion
or beliefs shall be subject only to such limitations as are prescribed
by
law and are necessary in a democratic society in the interests of public
safety, for the protection of public order, health or morals, or for the
protection of the rights and freedoms of others.
The
British governments claim that the continued enforcement of Cannabis
prohibition is valid on the grounds that is protecting public safety,
public
order and health and morals, is a fraudulent lie.
It
is Frees intent to expose this lie by presenting evidence to show
that
Cannabis is a safe natural herb. In order to do this he wishes to present
the findings of the numerous independent studies that have been carried
out
on Cannabis.
Not
only is the Misuse of Drugs act a violation of human rights, but the
system that upholds this law, the British Government, are involved in
the
importation, distribution and taxation of toxic, addictive drugs that
are
threatening public safety, public order and health.
A large
part of Frees defence will centre around the operations of the
FMMF.
Opening
Statement to the Jury.
I Love you. I Love everyone, for I believe that every living thing is
a
physical manifestation of Gods spirit, which is Love. There are
many
religions that embrace the philosophy that God is an omnipresent force
that
is in all things. Many of these religions, including Shivite Hinduism,
the
oldest practised religion in the world, embrace the use of sacramental
plant
medicines such as Cannabis. These medicines, when ingested enforce the
reality that everyone and everything is interconnected. They promote
feelings of empathy and closeness to all living things.
There
have been many efforts by certain groups of people to cause disharmony
and separation, trying to enforce the illusion that we are in someway
separate and different from each other. Many of these cultures that have
enforced this illusion, have embraced the use of alcohol. It is from these
alcohol fed cultures that the worldwide prohibition of Cannabis has
originated.
Over
the next few days I will be explaining the fascinating history of
Cannabis, from its origins in central Asia and how it spread around the
planet, becoming one of the largest agricultural crops, providing us with
our four basic needs of food, fibre, fuel and medicine. So valuable was
this
crop that Kings and Queens, both here and abroad, made the cultivation
of
Cannabis mandatory. This was before the dawn of the industrial revolution
when greedy businessmen conspired with corrupt politicians to pass laws
that
effectively banned the plant worldwide.
The
laws of Cannabis prohibition are a conspiratorially fabricated
imposture, instigated by corrupt politicians to protect the vested interests
of large corporate organisations. With the introduction of these laws,
multinational corporations who are exploiting both planet and people for
the
sake of profit are doing untold environmental and social damage.
Trees,
the lungs of the planet are being cut down to make chemically
drenched paper and non-sustainable building materials.
Fossil
Fuels are being mined, processed, transported and finally burned with
devastating environmental consequences.
Cannabis
prohibition is a crime against peace and all humanity. The
motivation for this crime is clear, greed. There was a time when the land
was the means of production of wealth. Farmers would grow crops to provide
for our basic needs of fibre, fuel, medicine and food.
Now,
however the fibre industry has been pretty much taken over by the
petrochemical industry. Any fibre crops that are grown, such as cotton
are
chemically dependent.
The
oil barons dominate the fuel industry and most medicines are now
synthetic copies of naturally occurring plant preparations.
The
food industry is now being rapidly taken over by the synthetic
industries with genetically modified plants and vast quantities of dangerous
chemicals being added to foods.
This
has meant that the land is longer the means for production of wealth.
Instead the wealth has been concentrated into the hands of large
multinational companies. These companies only motivation appears to be
profit with little or no concern being shown for the environment or society
in general.
The
laws of Cannabis Prohibition are a gross violation of Human rights, in
particular article 18 of the UN declaration of Human Rights, that states
that everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and
religion;
this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom,
either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to
manifest his religion or belief, in worship, teaching, practice and
observance.
As
a signatory to the UN declaration of Human Rights, Britain is legally
bound to observe these rights as enshrined in the convention.
In
October 2000 the European Declaration of Human Rights was enshrined into
British Law. Article 9.1of this Declaration is a direct copy of Article
18
of the UN declaration.
The
British Government and the Crown Prosecution Service claim that Cannabis
prohibition is valid on the grounds of a sub clause that has been added
in
the form of article 9.2.
This
article states that Freedom to manifest ones religion or beliefs
shall be subject only to such limitations as are prescribed by law and
are
necessary in a democratic society in the interests of public safety, for
the
protection of public order, health or morals, or for the protection of
the
rights and freedoms of others.
The
British governments claim that the continued enforcement of Cannabis
prohibition is valid on the grounds that is protecting public safety,
public
order and health and morals, is a fraudulent lie.
I will
be presenting evidence, much of which has been commissioned and
conducted by official government bodies, that Cannabis is a relatively
safe,
benign herb and should no longer be subject to criminal law.
The
truth of the matter is that prohibition is threatening public safety,
public order, health and morals.
Not
only is this claim by the British government a fraudulent lie, they
themselves, are involved with the importation, taxation and distribution
of
toxic, addictive drugs that are threatening public safety, causing public
disorder and threatening the health of the public as well as threatening
the
rights and freedoms of others.
The
wealth of Britain is historically based on the trade of drugs of
addiction such as opium (heroin), sugar, tobacco, alcohol, tea, coffee
and
now more recently, pharmaceutical drugs. All of these drugs, which the
British Government profiteers from in their taxation, are a definite threat
to public health.
Official figures put the number of deaths from tobacco alone at over
100,000. Yet, in several thousand years of recorded medical use, there
is no
credible evidence to suggest that Cannabis has been responsible for one
single death. Not only is there a definite threat to public health from
these government-controlled drugs, but there is also a threat to health
from
the suppression of Cannabis. As has all ready been stated, Cannabis is
a
very versatile plant resource. There is no need to cut down trees to make
paper, there is no need to be mining and burning fossil fuels, all of
these
things are unnecessary and a definite threat to public health.
In
1937 Harry Anslinger convinced the US congress that Marijuana is
the
most violence causing drug in the history of mankind. However the
truth of
the matter is that alcohol is implemented in the majority of violent crimes.
Alcohol abuse is a severe threat to public order. One only has to walk
the
streets of most cities, towns and even villages on a Friday or Saturday
night to see first hand the public order problems caused by alcohol abuse.
The
issue of morality is harder to evaluate in purely scientific terms.
However, how can it be seen to be moral to uphold a law that is
fundamentally based on lies?
In
the interests of the future survival of this planet and all those that
inhabit it, the prohibition of Cannabis must end.
It
is quite likely that after myself and the prosecution have presented our
cases you will be informed that a statute law has been broken and therefore
it is your duty to return a Guilty verdict to all charges. By merely
enforcing the governments law without questioning it, makes a mockery
of the
so called justice system and the trial by jury, for such an
action is
without doubt a tyrannical injustice.
It
is a long established right and duty for the jury to overturn unjust laws
with the pronouncing of the verdict of Not Guilty. If it wasnt for
the
activities of the Suffragettes several of you may still not have the right
to vote or be on this jury.
I hope
very much that you will have the strength and conviction to do what
you believe to be right.
I thank
you for your attention and look forward to revealing to you the
truth about Cannabis and its illegal prohibition.
Thank
you.
