Campaign!!! Past events in the fight to legalise cannabis
The Cannabis Marches

There have been some big marches in support of legalising cannabis. The first one was way back in 1967, but it wasn't until the late 1990's that the campaign really picked up steam when the independent on Sunday newspaper organised the "Decriminalise cannabis" march. This has been followed every year by ever larger celebrations of the cannabis culture.

Again, please if you have any pictures or memories of these events - especially the 1967 march, please contact UKCIA

Smokey Bears Picnics

Smokey Bears picnics have been happening on and off since the 1970's, sometimes attracting the attention of the blue meanies, other times being allowed to go ahead with no problems.

For some reason, Portsmouth seems to be the favourite venue for the Bears, although they have turned up in London and several other places around the country.

If anyone has pictures of past Bears picnics, please contact UKCIA and we'll put some of them up here. We'd be especially interested to hear your stories as well.
